theJeansProject™ came from the idea of a longtime supporter of The Dream Center, Brad Alden Mowry, a denim development specialist and marketing executive. Having overcome many personal battles similar to those residing at The Dream Center campus, Mowry connected with Matthew Barnett, Co-Founder of The Dream Center and together they merged Mowry’s passion for denim and helping others to create theJeansProject™. The jeans are made with high quality fabrics in various washes for both men and women and are all manufactured in the United States.

Barnett explains, “Lives are transformed in the most radical way at The Dream Center and Brad Alden Mowry, a very well-known and respected businessman in the denim fashion industry, came to me saying he wanted to be a part of that. Together we came up with this great idea to give back to those in the community and we are so proud to see the impact theJeansProject™ is already having around the world.”

Proceeds will be going toward various rehabilitation programs within The Dream Center including Project Hope, a shelter for human trafficking survivors and Project Prevention, a ministry that provides assistance to families that are at risk of losing their children to foster care because of poverty. Additionally, The Dream Center offers a residential restoration program for teens and adults, delivers food to hundreds of families on a daily basis and provides free medical care for the uninsured.

“I didn’t want to create another ordinary jeans brand, but one that could change someone’s life and contribute to second chance opportunities,” says Mowry. “With one pair of jeans, we can make a difference to help someone get off of drugs, rescue a woman from human trafficking, or give an emancipated minor a home… and that’s what matters. This is why we are doing this.”

The Dream Center, a volunteer driven organization that finds and fills the needs of individuals and families alike, was founded in 1994 and currently serves over 50,000 people each month.
Services and programs offered include residential rehabilitation programs for teens and adults, a shelter for victims of human trafficking, a transitional shelter for homeless families, mobile hunger relief and medical programs, and a foster care intervention outreach that works closely with Los Angeles County’s Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) to keep families intact.
